European Arts Company
THE PICTURE OF DORIAN GRAY
The European Arts Company, who brought the delightful Chekhov's Shorts to Radlett last year, presents another witty classic, The Picture of Dorian Gray. Adapted from the novel by Oscar Wilde (and fresh from a successful European tour) this show is highly physical, using a versatile cast of five actors to tell the wicked story of Dorian Gray using only the objects found within an artist's studio. Therefore picture frames, paint pots, brushes, dust sheets, stepladders, trestles (and anything else that comes to hand) are used to create the physical world of Victorian London with great ingenuity and a lot of fun. "European Arts Company really takes the audience by storm…a surreal performance, witty and hilarious, full of energy, talent and creativity." (Culture Guide)
Wednesday 20th February 8pm
Tickets: £12, £10 (conc.), £8 (students)

RABBI LIONEL BLUE
Rabbi Lionel Blue is known to millions through his broadcasting on BBC Radio. Many others know him from his numerous TV appearances and his books, among them Bolts from the Blues and Simply Divine. Using his own experiences and offbeat sense of humour, Rabbi Lionel Blue tells a selection of stories, incidents and conversations whose dotty inconsequential flavour will appeal to people from all religions, and from none. He talks about the people he has known with affection and about himself with a delicious sense of the ridiculous. He can spot when his dog is having an existential crisis and knows that the best cure for insomnia is a straight-from-the-tin baked bean feast. "My aim", Lionel says, "is to give people the courage to get out of bed".
Sunday 24th February 7.30pm

MeMe Productions presents
PUTTING IT TOGETHER
The Words and Music of Stephen Sondheim
"A sophisticated, sumptuous, glitzy onstage party that celebrates the legendary artist who simply keeps on redefining the American musical..."
A revue with a difference. A revue that tells a story. A show that covers one night and forty years. A show that takes place not only in New York but also Greece, Rome, London, Paris, Milan and Sweden. A show that takes place in a Manhattan penthouse, but includes the stage of an abandoned theatre, an estate in Sweden, an island outside of Paris, a street off the Roman Forum, the woods of a fairy tale and a mythical town in the Southwest. All performed by only five people thrown together at a party. Sondheim devised this unique and inventive musical entertainment from his own work, which includes songs from every score he has ever written as well as some never heard before.
