Frances Hodgson Burnett’s wonderful story of a parentless
girl courageously resisting hunger and cruelty at the hands
of her headmistress, Miss Minchin, is one of the most inspiring
of all the children’s classics. Her eventual triumph
and the downfall of her oppressor makes for wonderful theatre.
With the opportunity for some children to take part as actors
and the whole audience as the chorus singers this is family
theatre at its very best.
