The SpiroArk presents…
STEWART CURTIS & his K Groove Band
The SpiroArk invites you to an unforgettable evening of
Klezmer and Jazz with the first winners of Klezmer Idol
Competition (2007). Multi instrumentalist composer Stewart
Curtis formed his K Groove Band in the mid 90s. They are
all virtuosos in their own right playing trumpet, clarinet,
saxophone, keyboards, electric bass, drums and percussion.
The band will be performing some well known and popular
Jewish and Israeli tunes such as Jerusalem of Gold,
Sabbath Prayer, Al Kol Ele, Adon Olam and other beautiful
but perhaps less known tunes. Curtis’ musical arrangements
are however filled with surprises and unexpected twists
and turns.
Wednesday 6th October 7.30pm
Tickets: £10, £8 concession (full time students
& SpiroArk membership cardholders)

BARRON KNIGHTS
50th Anniversary Tour
Probably the most entertaining group to come out of the
60’s and 70’s! Their musicianship, their harmonies
and of course their humour makes them what their peers
call them ‘The Guvnors’. Their show will include
all the hits as well as songs that are from the soundtrack
of the bands lives that bring back so many memories. They
have played over 300 shows at the London Palladium and
even performed at Buckingham Palace. The Barron Knights
inspired Bill Wyman to buy a guitar back in 1961 and Elton
John was their session pianist on some of their records
recorded at Abbey Road. A show not to be missed.

TONY JACOBS: SWING JAZZ CABARET
A fantastic new show celebrating the genius of some of
the greatest songwriters and performers of all time: George
Gershwin, Bing Crosby, Ella Fitzgerald, Cole Porter, Irving
Berlin, Frank Sinatra, Johnny Mercer and Doris Day to
name just a few. This exciting show celebrates the music
and performers of the era with fascinating - sometimes
hilarious anecdotes of the day. Tony brings together top
musicians from big band backgrounds to play songs and
music we love. He connects with the audience and inspires
them to truly listen to the songs – maybe for the
very first time and to ‘feel’ the magic of
music written by geniuses. A wonderful, heady cocktail
of songs and music creates this must-see show for all
music-lovers young and old.
