Radlett Art Society Lecture
THE WORLD OF CARL FABERGE
Slide Lecture by Peter Darty
The name of Carl Fabergé has always been associated
with St Petersberg. His father, Gustav, was an unassuming
jeweller who started his own business there in 1842. Carl
worked for his father but also carried out appraisal work
at the Hermitage, helping them with repair work free of
charge. The result was a brilliant knowledge of jewellery
which became the basis of the future of Fabergé.
